Overview of position

Under the overall supervision of the FAIR Value National Project Officer with technical supervision of the Value Chain Analysis Consultant & Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant, the incumbent will assist in field data collection for FAIR value project.

Role objectives
  • Conduct in person direct interviews / surveys with affected populations & other relevant stakeholders.

  • Conduct in person key informant interviews with key members of the affected populations & other relevant stakeholders.

  • Facilitate focus group discussions with affected populations.

  • Document focus group discussion minutes.

  • Accurately record data collected into either paper based forms, IOM owned tablets, or personal gadgets (laptop or mobile phones), as agreed upon with Value Chain Analysis Consultant or the Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant.

  • Submit completed forms or digital data to the Value Chain Analysis Consultant or the Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant.

  • Provide regular updates as per the assessment schedule.

  • Identify & report any issues that may arise while collecting & recording data.

  • Perform such other duties that may be assigned.

Project reporting

This role will work under the overall supervision of the FAIR Value National Project Officer with technical supervision of the Value Chain Analysis Consultant & Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant.

Key competencies
  • Minimum high school diploma is required with one year relevant experience in community mobilization & data collection procedures & data entry processes.

  • Able to speak local dialect in the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu or Tawi Tawi (Basulta). As well as good familiarity of the context & dynamics in Basulta.

  • Excellent communication & data organization skills.

  • Knowledge on conduct of survey questionnaires.

  • Familiarity with the use of MS Applications especially MS Excel.

  • Consciousness on data privacy & information collected.

  • Able to report & provide precise updates to instructions given.

  • Flexible work ethic.

  • Able to work & adjust as needed.

  • English, Filipino & Zam Basulta local languages (oral & written).

  • Conversant in any BARMM language.

  • Respects & promotes individual & cultural differences, encourages diversity & inclusion wherever possible.
