Express of Interest

Operations Manager

Role objectives

The Operations Manager will be well-equipped to navigate the operational complexities with precision and expertise.

Responsibilities:

·Full management accountability for operational aspects of delivery of the contract in East Africa 

·Ensure effective Journey Management Process on all client moves.

·Deliver and oversee effective training in line with the agreed pre-deployment and post deployment refresher training programme. 

·Maintain high standards of customer service. 

·Maintain management accountability/responsibility for all contract equipment.

·Maintain adherence to and reporting of the contracted stipulated KPIs.

·Proactively meet the changing requirements of our clients.

·Comply with all reporting requirements. 

·Co-ordination and cooperation with other organisations.

Project reporting

Personnel Management:
Lead and supervise a mobile security team, including training, and performance management, to ensure a high level of productivity and job satisfaction.

Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage operational budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to achieve financial targets and optimise resource utilisation.

Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all security regulations, policies, and procedures, and identify and mitigate operational security risks to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.

Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, suppliers, and partners, to foster positive relationships and support business objectives.

Key competencies

Essentials:

  • DV Cleared (advantage) or SC clearance (essential). 

  • Must be a British passport holder.

  • At least 7 years of accumulated experience (including operational experience) in the British military.

  • Current and valid C1 Driver’s license.

  • Degree or equivalent in operational security management or a related field.   

  • SIA Level 3 licence - Close Protection, FREC 3 or equivalent. 

  • Trauma first aid medic – First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC 3) or equivalent (e.g. ECFR)

  • Fluency in English.

  • Proven experience in operations management,

  • Experience in a high threat environment required Including East Africa. 

Desirable:

Hold a valid National Rifle Association of the United Kingdom Range Conducting Officers qualification and able to act as an RCO and run Ministry of Defence (MoD) ranges.

Team management
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
