Key competencies | - Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR First Level University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required OR military experience with a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience. - Experienced in IED threat mitigation field through police or military career or equivalent (required). - Thorough training & coordination of training experience (required). - Flexibility to adapt training phases to the framework, local context & to react as necessary. - Ease in dealing with national security forces & authorities. - Ability to work with & mentor national trainer. - Knowledge of IMAS & of the use of IMSMA are required. - Experience with the QA & QC process. - Knowledge of the UN system & procedures is an asset. - Computer literacy, in particular, experience of using Office software & IMSMA is an asset. - Decision making capability to face unexpected situations. - Ability to work in multicultural context & environment. - Ability to travel & work in harsh living conditions. - 3 years of experience in explosive threat mitigation. - 2 years as Trainer (or equivalent task). - 1 year previous work experience within the UN system (desirable). - Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable relevant mine action experience. - Effective work experience in the sub region & recent context. - Recent IED TM operational field experience (within the last 36 months) within a military or civilian govt. program desired. - Fluent in (speaking / reading / writing) in French is required & & intermediary level in English (speaking / reading / writing) is required (Some courses are done in English language). |
