Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design and modify the needed curricula for all types of Vocational training, life skills and financial management, and support all adaptations and curriculum adjustments when needed for Livelihoods center.
  • Supervise and follow-up the printing of the curricula with high quality in coordination with the supply chain department and provide the beneficiaries with the required curricula at the beginning of each Cycle.
  • With support from ERD Technical Advisor identify, adapt, and develop relevant training materials and corresponding monitoring tools.
  • Identify the gaps in the livelihood team's technical skills, required trainings, and raise training plans to the livelihoods manager.
  • Supervising and contributing to capacity building for the Livelihood Team through internal training as TOT training, workshops, FGDs, and other relevant trainings as required.
  • In Coordination with Livelihoods Manager, ensure participation of the Livelihood Team in external trainings.
  • In coordination and collaboration with the Livelihoods Manager, develop the Livelihoods training forms and tools to ensure quality services for livelihoods beneficiaries.
  • Monitoring the training in the livelihoods center and in the field by supervising the presence of training assistants and randomly visits to the training sessions, suggesting adaptations as needed. Ensure that the service providers are delivering quality trainings. And reporting about the quality of training, gaps and challenges.
  • Ensure appropriate day-to-day supervision of trainings including working with training assistants, Vocational trainers, partners and participants.
  • In coordination with the Livelihoods Manager, developing the training strategies in line with the needs of the local markets, ensuring diversification of training types through surveys, market assessments, FGDs with the local community, economic actors, local authorities and relevant partners.
  • Follow up the impacts of livelihood activities (vocational training, Apprenticeship and Small Business Grants) through pre and post testes and assessments and taking the indicators such as increased knowledge, increase in monthlyworking days and increase monthly incomes for Livelihoods beneficiaries.
  • Oversee the day-to-day IRC’s livelihood training activities, monitoring the implementation of the training, identify the challenges, supervise the performance of the training assistants and the vocational trainers and provide the required support.
  • Follow up the feedback of the training(s) through responding to the beneficiaries feedback related to training process, performance of PDMs in corporation and coordination with MEAL department, and supervising the preparation of success stories related to Livelihoods activities.
  • Prepare weekly, Monthly and quarterly technical reports for the training process and submit to Livelihoods Manager.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of IRC’s livelihood center.
  • Ensure appropriate day-to-day supervision of activities including working with training assistants, partners and participants on attendance sheets, logistics and other issues.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for beneficiary and community selection.
  • Coordinate with the Women’s Protection and Empowerment team to ensure Livelihoods program meet the different needs of men and women, boys and girls.
  • Ensure that field activities are implemented in accordance to the approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other IRC policies.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Education:
  • University Degree in Economy, Agricultural engineering, Public or Business Administration or equivalent and an academic degree in other fields alongside relevant experience in this field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in training, skills development, employment or life skills projects, preferably youth focused.
  • Previous experience working with Livelihoods, or economic development projects.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience and capacity in delivering training to youth.
  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
  • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.

Language Skills:

  • Good in oral and written English. Fluent in Arabic.
