Malteser International (MI) is the international humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta. MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.
For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a motivated MEAL Assistant – National Position.
As a key member of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) unit, the position holder will play a crucial role in supporting the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans for projects in Türkiye and Syria.
Your responsibilities:
- Support MEAL plan design and implementation with partners in Turkey and Syria programs.
- Participate in community engagement and field evaluations.
- Ensure partner compliance with MI standards in measuring, monitoring, and best practices.
- Collaborate with partners to improve monitoring approaches.
- Organize knowledge-sharing sessions internally and with partners.
- Review and analyze bi-monthly monitoring reports from partners.
- Participate in MEAL meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and learning.
- Support corrective action plans, learning system updates, desk reviews, and CRM records.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Development Studies).
- At least 2 years of previous experience or internship in a related field is essential.
- Basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills, Arabic or Turkish is an advantage.
