Job Description

CFPs responsibilities and duties:

  • Establishing links between humanitarian actors and the local community;
  • Identifying individuals with specific needs through community activities household or community visits, referring them to existing services, in accordance with principles of confidentiality, non-discrimination and do no harm;
  • Facilitating child protection curricula such as Social and Emotional Learning sessions and Reach Up and Learn visits to parents/caregivers
  • Information dissemination on protection risks and available services
  • Engaging communities in program design and implementation, ensuring that feedback mechanisms are being accessed by beneficiariesand the broader community \
  • Conduct home-based or center-based activities, promoting early childhood development, positive parenting skills and social and emotional learning for children
  • Participate actively in integrated protection training packages and specific child protection trainings
  • Participate in regular meetings with the community-based protection team to relay feedback on protection concerns and trends

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Have a flexible attitude, responding to the evolving needs of the community
  • Provide services in accordance with humanitarian principles of neutrality and independence;
  • Work with communities, respecting the dignity of the most vulnerable, and
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained during the course of CFP activities;
  • Treat IDP, local, and refugee community members equally and without discrimination, in accordance with the principles and standards of IRC;
  • Coordinate and work with other IRC teams on a regular basis; and
  • Attend monthly meetings with IRC and/or another service provider.
  • Kindergarten, social science qualification or any relevant.
  • Previous experience working with children, in social work or community outreach
  • Previous experience providing psychosocial support sessions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children
  • Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, strong communication skills with children and caregivers, analytical skills, network-builder, able to handle pressure well and work in cross-cultural setting.
  • Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish, English are add on.
