Organizational Setting

UTF/BRA/089/BRA
The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.


Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil – Programme.


Technical Focus

To carry out a technical study aimed at subsidizing the National Council for Sustainable Rural Development – CONDRAF in the strengthening of sustainable rural development actions in the states, focusing on methodological processes of the thematic, sectoral, territorial, municipal, intermunicipal, state Conferences, stages that precede the 3rd National Conference on Sustainable and Solidary Rural Development – CNDRSS, the result of which will contribute to the improvement of public policies in rural areas.


Tasks and Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with the team of the Executive Secretariat of Condraf and with the National Organizing Committee of the 3rd National Conference on Sustainable Rural Development – 3rd CNDRSS to plan, discuss and define guidelines and strategies that contribute to the organization and implementation of actions aimed at strengthening sustainable rural development.
• Provide technical support in meetings to present and discuss the agreement’s products.
• Assist in the organization of meetings with strategic actors to gather information and present partial results.
• Provide technical support and deliver the products provided for in this Term of Reference.
• Attend and present reports of face-to-face and virtual events with the participation of Condraf members and the National Organizing Committee of the 3rd CNDRSS.
• Provide technical support to the Executive Secretariat of Condraf and the National Organizing Committee with information in the construction process of the 3rd National Conference on Sustainable Rural Development is a fundamental step to ensure that the event is guided by relevant data and aligned with the needs of the rural sector.
• Attend meetings with the MDA superintendencies in the states.

Minimum Requirements

• University Degree in Human Sciences or Applied Social Sciences, according to the table of areas of knowledge of CAPES/CNPq.
• Minimum experience of 08 (eight) years with sustainable rural development or territorial development and governance projects; or with management and institutional planning of government agencies; and with moderation and reporting of face-to-face and virtual events
• Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese;
• National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit
