Project Description
The Digital Communications Studio (DCS) works closely with the other teams in the Communications group to ensure that the tone and visual representation of UNDP branded products are consistent. Reporting to the Digital Communications Specialist, the Intern will support the team conceptualizing and creating social media messaging for campaigns, events, editorial content and other promotional purposes.
Duties and Responsibilities
The interested candidate will:
- Support the creation of social media copy in English for all UNDP global social media platforms, focusing on multimedia stories and blogs, campaigns, UN International Days and reports among others;
- Support in the brainstorming of creative assets for multimedia stories, campaigns and UN International Days;
- Review country and regional office channels, UNDP Administrator and senior level channels, UN agencies, partners, etc for content suitable for global amplification;
- Assist in creating social media plans and schedule for the next three months;
- Provide assistance in researching, curating and presenting stories, images, graphics and videos in UNDP’s digital platforms, including the production of Trello boards;
- Assist in the work and coordination with other communication teams at UNDP;
- Any other tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school Programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree Programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Experience:
Creative copy writing for social media.
Social media management and content production.
Proficient in using social media platforms (including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook) and tools (such as Trello).
Language:
Fluency in written and spoken English;
French and Spanish an asset.
Availability:
Must be available at least 2-3 days a week (20 to 24 hours per week).
UNDP Terms & Conditions for Internship
- In accordance with the UNDP Internship policy, UNDP interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend, with the rate that varies depending on the duty location. The stipend will be paid monthly, and part-time internship arrangements are prorated accordingly.
- Where an intern is financially supported by an institution, government or third party, UNDP will, subject to the rules of such institution, government or third party, pay the intern the difference, if any, between the external financial support provided and the applicable UNDP stipend.
- Except for the stipend, all other expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern, sponsoring government or institutions.
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness or death incurred during the internship.
- The intern must provide proof of enrollment in health insurance plan;
- Interns are not considered staff members and may not represent UNDP in any official capacity.
