Learn about the political game behind the selection of the UNDP leadership in 2018

It is rare that five senior management positions at Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) level are advertised at the same time. But this happened back in 2018. By using our member-state network, internal UN sources and our own expertise, we took a closer look at these roles to try to understand the political game behind these appointments and we make an attempt to identify whom we believe to be the most likely candidates to land the jobs. With hindsight, the sad thing is that our estimations were very to the point.
