Organizational Setting

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Pakistan focuses its efforts on poverty reduction, food security, sustainable livelihoods, and rural development. FAO has collaborated with the Government of Pakistan on research and development, training, extension services, and strengthening of the staff capacity in planning and policymaking. FAO has supported improvements in agricultural policy analysis and strengthened institutions. Enhanced integrated area development and expanded participation of marginalized and vulnerable communities in sustainable development.

This position will be based in Multan, Punjab. Pakistan under GCF Project.

The position is at SB1 SC 1 level.


Reporting Lines


Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Pakistan, the direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (Programme/Administration), and the Admin/ Finance team, the incumbent will be directly supervised by the Provincial Head in the performance of the following functions.


Technical Focus

The incumbent is responsible for driving the Office staff and collecting and delivering documents and correspondence. The driver’s work impacts on the timely and efficient delivery of the immediate work of the units.
The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds


Tasks and responsibilities

• Drive the project office staff and their official visitors on official trips.
• Handle local and organizational formalities when involved in an accident; ensure that in this case all organizational and local/country rules, regulations and procedures are followed correctly.
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other communications items from and to the office; go to the post off airport, government agencies, other UN agencies, institutions, project sites, etc. to take and deliver items and communications; keep records as required.
• Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance and log of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
• Ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs.
• Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, and map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
• Be responsible for safe travel and comfort of passengers.
• Perform other related duties as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING


Minimum Requirements

• Secondary school education. Possession of a valid driving license.
• At least three years of work experience as a driver. Flawless, safe driving record.
• Working knowledge (Level C) of English and Urdu.
• National of Pakistan
