Org. Setting and Reporting
UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees. Supervisor: The incumbent is reporting to the Programme Coordination & Evaluation Officer.
Responsibilities
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures the incumbent: 1. Serves as main focal point for emergency projects and liaise with relevant programmes and support departments to facilitate implementation. 2. Develops a detailed project work plan to monitor and track progress in coordination with relevant staff in programs. 3. Monitors assigned projects and budgets and take action as needed (funding allocations, preparation of budget breakdowns; review and overseeing the preparation or budgetary reports closure of grants, etc.); 4. In coordination with relevant staff in programs, ensures that project activities are delivered on-time, with in scope, and within budget; coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget; 5. Establishes work plan for the project and arranges for assignment of project personnel where requested; confers with project staff to outline the work plan; 6, Establishes and successfully manages the relationship with all stakeholders including UNRWA External Relations Department, Public Information, Human Resources, Procurement, and Finance; 7. Coordinates projects’ monitoring of activities and timely drafting and submission of projects’ progress, interim and final reports, in coordination with relevant departments. 8. Supports facilitation of regular meetings to review and track implementation of projects and emergency interventions identify and address bottlenecks. Documents and ensures follow-up of action points; 9. Perform risk management to minimize project risks; creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation and ensures lessons learned are captured and documented; 10. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Minimum of three years' experience working in the area relevant to the project scope, coordination, designing, planning, and managing projects, preferably in the international development or humanitarian sector is required. Conditions of service Type of Contract: Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band "E". The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC. Duration of Contract: One year- with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need. Grade & Salary: LDC- Band E monthly basic salary ranges JOD (1,025.30) Other Benefits: Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pro-rated to the duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable).
