Responsibilities
- Ensures the delivery of quality inclusive education to all students through: 1. Identifying the key concepts, content, skills and pedagogy appropriate to the delivery of curriculum subject areas taking into account needs of individual students; 2. Using a range of appropriate learner centered instructional strategies and techniques; 3. Enriching the host country's curriculum where appropriate to develop the competencies of students and achieve UNRWA learning goals and values in line with UNRWA Curriculum Framework; 4. Assessing students’ learning through the use of formative, summative and diagnostic assessment; 5. Maintaining a safe and effective learning environment in the classroom and school compound in accordance with the UNRWA school code of conduct; - Participates in the school co-curricular activities/committees and maintains links with the wider education community to improve the performance and wellbeing of students including activities on key social, environmental, health issues, child rights and protection. - Actively engages in school-based and other professional development including peer support, discussions and training in line with UNRWA approved policies, processes, and procedures. - Contributes to the systematic collection, recording and analysis of data in line with the school and UNRWA EMIS system. - Effectively communicates with parents and the school community regarding learner progress and needs. - Contributes to the school policy level development, planning and evaluation working as a team member. - Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

During the assessment, the applications will be given preference based on the following desirable qualifications: • The candidate has a higher Education Diploma, Masters or PHD in Education, Educational Psychology, Teaching Methods, or Educational Technology. • The candidate has completed 2 scholastic years (4 semesters) in teaching. • The candidate holds a Master's or Doctorate degree in a specialization other than education. • The candidate achieved a grade of 2.5/4 or higher or 68% or higher in the Bachelor's degree. • The candidate graduated from the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Arts (FESA). • Provided very good understanding of the context of Palestine refugees and UNRWA operations. Special Notice
Contract Status: Fixed-Term Appointment for 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and continuing need. Promotion: • Staff members appointed with qualifications as prescribed under First Level in the Education Section above, are eligible for promotion to grade 09 upon obtaining a pre or in-service teacher training course of at least one year duration. • Staff members eligible for in service promotion to grade 10 after five years satisfactory services as a teacher with the Agency from the date of EOD, or from the date on which s/he becomes fully qualified as a teacher, whichever is later. Benefits: Grade 8, Monthly Salary JD 628.900 fils. Grade 9, Monthly Salary JD 634.600 fils.
