Functional Responsibilities

Board Affairs Support :

  • Updating the RBM website (Board biographies, meeting reports, decisions, policies, meeting dates, etc) in collaboration with the Communications Team.

  • Support the operations team to process the procurement needs related to Board meetings/events.

  • Support travel arrangements for Board Members, including quotes, liaison with Board members on the preferred/possible route, liaison with finance for approval to proceed, liaison with the UNOPS travel unit, security & health and safety clearances, processing of expense claims, visa applications, arranging of accommodation, transfers as need be, and processing any changes.

  • Support in maintaining Board-Affairs contacts and mailing lists.

CRSCP Support 

  • Assist in coordinating and setting up CRSPC teleconferencing meetings, including minute-taking and document filing.

  • Provide assistance to the CRSPC during event preparations, including drafting and dispatching invitation letters, corresponding with participants, and systematically filing official letters and relevant documents.

  • In collaboration with others, support the coordination of consultant travel planning and advice on respective budgeting, as per the Work Plan.

  • Provide logistical support for visa applications, hotel accommodations, and flight bookings to the CRSPC manager during their mission.

  • Perform additional duties as required, including general administrative support.

Participation in missions or training courses

Exposure to UNOPS processes and activities; If mission travel is undertaken, Daily Subsistence Allowance, in accordance with UN policy

Additional comments

This Intern position will have matrix line management: the Governance Officer ( direct line management) and the CRSPC Officer (Matrix line management) The internship comes with no expectations of future employment with UNOPS as a direct result of the internship. The internship is offered for 6 months. Candidates who are unable to commit to 6 months are requested to not apply.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program or be pursuing an advanced university degree, such as a Masters, or be a recent graduate from such studies (within the last 3 years).
  • Candidates who have studied or are studying towards university degrees in Business Administration, Governance, Public Affairs, International Relations or  any related fields are preferred.
Experience
  • English is mandatory. French would be an asset.

Computer Literacy

  • Solid computer skills are required. Experience with Google Suite is preferred.

Internship-related experiences

  • A minimum of year (1) year of relevant  experience is preferred.

  • Ability to coordinate at both relevant experience at the national or international levels with responsibility for coordination and/or partnerships is highly desired.

Additional requirements

  • Good knowledge of public health issues, with a focus on malaria is an advantage. 

  • Previous experience with and/or a good knowledge of the development and humanitarian sector/working with the UN, Donors, and NGOs is an advantage.
