Impactpool Career Story | Meet Julia Watt, Chief of Human Resources at International Telecommunication Union

After 25 years with different UN organizations, Julia Watt is now the Chief of Human Resources at International Telecommunication Union. Hear her story in this week's episode of the UNjobfinder Career Podcast.

 

Julia has been working for UN-organizations such as UNDP and UNHCR in field locations in Africa and in headquarters positions. Currently, Julia is the Chief of Human Resources Management at ITU, but as of mid-August she will return to UNHCR as their Head of Service, Assignments and Career Management. In this episode Julia will share:

  • How she got a Junior Professional Officer (JPO) position with UNDP.
  • The importance of active networking in order to make yourself knowledgeable when starting a career.
  • The dedication that defines most people who are working for the UN and the astonishing rewards that could come from working in the humanitarian field.
