For the past ten years, the number of people forced to flee has increased every year. For the first time, more than 100 million people are fleeing war, conflict and oppression. The Refugee Foundation provides aid in the world's most serious humanitarian crises.
1 in 78 people worldwide are on the run. Since 1976, the Refugee Foundation has been providing aid to refugees and displaced persons worldwide as an emergency aid organization. In the event of an acute emergency, we provide life-saving emergency assistance such as medical care, shelter, food and clean drinking water. But people can also count on us in long-term humanitarian crises, for example for education and psychosocial support to cope with traumatic experiences.
* Refugees are people who have fled their own country. Displaced persons are on the run in their own country.
