Psychologists and Psychiatrists / Mental Health Specialists

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is urgently seeking French/Arabic speaking (with English Fluency) Psychologists and Mental health Professionals, to work in the field on projects in acute or chronic crisis areas in unstable contexts.

Currently, MSF is recruiting Bilingual Psychologists to serve in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Chad, Yemen, Libya, Syria, Sudan, South Sudan and Afghanistan.

Being a mental health officer (MHO) with MSF is an intense but rewarding job. From providing psychological first aid to survivors of natural disasters to counselling HIV patients, our MHOs play a vital role in our projects. Trauma is often the most painful aspect of surviving a conflict or disaster, or living with a disease, and mental healthcare is vital for recovery.

With its teams, they intervene in large-scale acute and chronic epidemics (e.g. measles, Ebola, TB and HIV), in areas of acute or chronic conflict (e.g. refugees, forced displacement, urban violence), in humanitarian crises (e.g. nutritional programs, refugee and migrant support), in disaster relief (e.g. flooding and earthquakes) and general and specialized basic and secondary health care (e.g. in prisons, basic health care in connection with sexual reproductive health and gender-based violence, reconstructive surgery or chronic disease).
