Impactpool will be hosting a fresh edition of the succesful 6-hour online career event, aimed at engaging women within the STEM sector.

International organisations will be participating in this uniquely focused career event to engage with professional women across the world, as they actively support the sector in becoming more gender-equal. The main fields of interst will be Science, Technology, Engineering and Data Science.

During the event, you will be able to engage with HR recruiters from the following international organizations: The European Space Agency (ESA), European Southern Observatory (ESO), European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Green Climate Fund (GCF), Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Organization (CTBTO), The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The most recent Science and Engineering Indicators report indicated that women represented about 34% of all STEM workers in 2019. Moreover, women comprised about 44% of STEM workers with at least a bachelor’s degree, which is a slight rise from 42% in 2010. In 2019, 31% of women with a STEM Bachelor’s degree entered STEM occupations. Of those, 8.9% worked in engineering occupations whereas 20.9% of men with similar educational attainment worked in engineering occupations.

The percentage of female engineers and computer professionals varies by specialization. Only 9% of mechanical engineers are female compared to 32% of environmental engineers. In the computer industry, only 18% of software developers and 26% of computer and information research scientists are women.

We are hosting this event to help women who pursue STEM careers to engage with the world's leading international organizations and help progressing positive impact in the world.
