The International Labour Organization is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice through setting international labour standards.
The incumbent will work in the Technology Management Services (TMS) Branch within the Information and Technology Management Department (INFOTEC), located in the Geneva office. They will report to the TMS Branch Chief.
INFOTEC provides modern, secure, and reliable IT infrastructure, technologies, applications and services to enable the ILO to effectively use technology to perform its mission. TMS conceptualizes, delivers, and supports the technology that is needed to work effectively and is focused on reducing risk, enabling mobile and productive staff, and identifying efficient and effective solutions to meet the demands of clients.
Specific Duties
- Provide expertise and support the on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure;
- Supervise the configuration and delivery of Microsoft 365 based communication;
- Oversee the proactive monitoring of services availability and capacity;
- Lead project activities related to infrastructure modifications;
- Draft, publish and maintain strategies, policies, standards and procedures for securing and supporting IT infrastructure;
- Lead and manage the TMS Infrastructure Service teams;
- Prepare the terms of reference for the purchase of infrastructure hardware, software or services;
- Manage contracts and relationship with 3rd party hosting providers, service providers and other suppliers;
- Engage in proactive risk management strategies for ILO infrastructure components;
- Provide costing and resource estimates;
- Ensure that the inventory of infrastructure assets is maintained complete and current;
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Information Ttechnology or other related field/Bachelor's degree with 3 additional years of experience.
Experience: 10 years of professional experience in the IT field; at least 5 years should be at an international level & in a management role.
Languages: Excellent command & working knowledge of 2 languages: English & French/Spanish
