Mission and objectives

The UN Global Compact Network UK is part of the world’s largest responsible business initiative connecting UK companies and other organisations in a global movement dedicated to driving sustainable growth. Through an extensive programme of activity, we promote practical sustainability leadership, share knowledge across sectors, and actively shape the responsible business environment to create a world we want to live and do business in. The United Nations Global Compact’s universally recognised Principles, rooted in UN treaties, provide a robust foundation from which we lead UK business action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We use our power to convene business and other organisations to find practical solutions to global challenges.

Context

From March-July 2022, the UN Global Compact Network UK held a five-part Climate Action and Business & Human Rights webinar series to support companies in taking holistic action to address climate and human rights-related issues by raising awareness, addressing challenges, and demonstrating practical solutions. Participants explored the interlinkages between climate and human rights risks, as well as practical tools, resources, and good practice to enable business to develop comprehensive approaches to address these two critical issues. The series focused on building business climate resilience, and broader environmental and societal resilience. By creating a summary video with key learnings, organisations with less capacity to watch the recordings of the full sessions will be able to access the key learnings and build resilience within their own business. Larger organisations will also be able to share this video with their suppliers to increase awareness and capacity to address climate and human rights-related challenges.

Task description

We are looking for one online volunteer to support our promotional efforts by editing a video that will be used to summarise key learnings from our Climate & Human Rights webinar series. We will provide the raw footage and branding of our organisation, as well as guidance on how we would like the final video to look. To this end, we have drafted a document stating which clips we would like to be included, and time stamps for where they can be found in the raw footage.
