Mission and objectives

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.

Context

Over the years, WFP has consistently integrated support to disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation into its programme of work while addressing the impacts of climate change and disasters on the people it serves. However, this body of experiences/successes/lessons learned has been dispersed across multiple channels, platforms, including email inboxes and (human) institutional memories. The assignment aims to address this challenge through thorough desk review of available resources - publications, human interest stories, among others to re-capture this body of evidence and organize and present it in a structured manner in one document.

Task description

The Online Volunteer will conduct desk review of past WFP reports, publications and other forms of records and compile a repository of content focusing on WFP's work in resilience, livelihoods, climate change and other key programme areas.
