The Chief of Facilities Engineering directs facilities maintenance, refurbishments, and construction projects in support of Sinai operations. The ideal candidate will lead a multinational team composed of facilities maintenance and construction specialists and be responsible for planning and delivery of smart, efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective infrastructure projects that include buildings and utility systems (water supplies, sewage disposal and electrical power), in a manner consistent with accepted US/UK health and safety standards.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Chief of Facilities Engineering:

  • Serves as the lead staff member for planning, designing, and delivering sustainable facilities, including planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishments, and new construction projects.
  • Establishes and maintains a pro-active facilities inspection program.
  • Manages the provision of water supplies, sewage disposal, electrical power, and other critical utilities for all MFO Sinai locations in the Sinai.
  • Supervises all contracted engineering and facilities works. Provides assurance that contractor activities are being performed within the terms of the contracts.
  • Develops forecasted plans, value engineering, financial monitoring and reporting, and prepares business cases. Establishes and executes multi-year project and equipment replacement budgets and plans.
  • Establishes and implements Quality Assurance Programs. Conducts evaluations, investigations and root cause analysis of specific issues.
  • Complies with MFO people policies, manages staff performance, and ensures a productive and inclusive work environment free of harassment and discrimination

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in Program Management, Engineering, Facilities Management or Construction Management, as well as Program Management certification or accreditation.
  • 10+ years of experience in implementing program planning and management systems in construction and facilities management.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency with SAP or another major ERP materials management
  • Professional registration and post graduate qualifications are highly desirable as is previous Middle East/Military experience
