The Role

Last Mile Health is looking for 2 experienced trainers to implement our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training package for our Liberia-based staff; in total, the external trainers will work with Last Mile Health for approximately 240 hours, over the course of 2.5 months (with orientation/TOT starting in January 2022 and training running from March through the first week of May 2022).

Project Details:

Over the last 10 months, Last Mile Health has been partnering with an organizational development consultancy to establish a comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training program. To provide the best in-person training experience for our staff in Liberia, we need experienced trainers to take the lead in facilitating the training package alongside our internal LMH volunteer co-trainers; external trainers will most often work alongside LMH volunteer trainers who will serve in a co-training/supportive capacity.

Our current DEI training package includes 10 modules totaling approximately 15 hours with an additional 2.5 hours of training for people managers. All ~175 staff working in LMH’s Liberia Country Program will need to be trained by the end of this consultancy.

The objectives of the DEI training package are:

  1. Creating a shared knowledge base around equity and inclusion at Last Mile Health
  2. Building individual behavioral competencies around DEI
  3. Socializing relevant LMH policies and procedures and day to day behavioral expectations for all staff

The external Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trainers for Last Mile Health will lead the facilitation of LMH’s DEI training package. External trainers will be leading the in-person training sessions for LMH’s Liberia staff and will therefore require travel within Liberia to Monrovia, Buchanan, Cestos, and Zwedru. Trainers will be provided training materials/curriculum, facilitation guides, and a Training of Trainers (TOT). The hired external trainers can make suggestions for ensuring the training package is appropriate for the local context.

This position is only open to Liberian Nationals candidates.
