Org. Setting and Reporting

The incumbent of this post is responsible to Head Health Center (B) or Deputy Head Health Center (A) or the Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist (as applicable) and receives technical supervision from the Field Laboratory Services Officer.

Responsibilities

In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

•Performs the full range of laboratory services including biochemistry, hematology, serology, routine (urine and stool examination) and bacteriology;
•Ensures accuracy and completeness of laboratory information in the computerized health information system (e-Health);
•Maintains laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents;
•Updates the programming of the automated laboratory equipment and follows up the preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment;
•At Health Centres without Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist:
i.Prepares estimates of requirements for replenishment of consumable supplies;
ii.Prepares the monthly and annual laboratory statistical report;
iii.Reviews and analyzes quality control results (internal and external) and makes the necessary intervention.
•Performs such other duties and assignments as may be required.

Education

- A university degree from a recognized university in Medical Laboratory Sciences;
- Possession of a license to practice medical laboratory services (where applicable)

Work Experience

At least three years of experience in a providing laboratory services;

Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.

Languages

Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

* Conditions of service
Monthly basic salary USD 1372.1, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate, Other benefits include:

* Equivalency:
