The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation located in Paris, comprised of 38 member countries, that works to build better policies for better lives. Together with governments, policy makers and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards, and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.

The Development Centre (DEV) is an independent platform for knowledge sharing and policy dialogue between OECD Member countries and developing economies, allowing these countries to interact on an equal footing. The DEV helps policy makers in OECD and non-OECD countries design better policies, practices and partnerships both at home and internationally. It identifies policy solutions for growth, poverty alleviation and the reduction of inequality, relevant to each country’s context by\:

  1. Producing multidisciplinary analysis on key development issues.

  2. Providing a platform for policy dialogue and learning between OECD and non-OECD countries.

  3. Influencing the international debate on sustainable development.

It contributes to collecting relevant data, producing analysis, providing recommendations and engaging in global, national and local dialogue.
