Generic responsibilities (max 10)

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  1. Ensure sufficient cash in the bank and in the cash boxes
  2. Prepare monthly financial reports
  3. Ensure filing of all financial documents according to NRC standards
  4. Supervise, train and develop financial staff
  5. Support project staff in financial matters
  6. Any other duties assigned by supervisor

 

Specific responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

  • Report any breach for NRC policies and regulations when reviewing the clearance of implementing partners.
  • Support project staff in financial matters especially timely payments.
  • Represent finance in procurement process meetings.
  • Focal point between Implementing partners and programme staff in NRC.
  • Review Budget Versus Actual (BvAs), Spending plan and provide detailed analysis on each on monthly basis  
  • Approving the online-payments in the Agresso system.   
  • Ensure daily cash count and cash balance are matching before closing the day business.
  • Follow up on Al-Kuraimi and Al-Amal receipts.

 

Generic professional competencies:

•             Experience from working as a Finance Officer for 2 years and above.

•             Bachelor / Master Degree in accounting or Business Administration.

•             Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

•             Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

•             Good knowledge of English

•             Good communication and interpersonal skills

•             Strong organizational and team working skills

•             Good cultural awareness and sensitivity
