DESCRIPTION

The role of the KAICIID Communications Department is to promote the role of dialogue in securing peace around the world, share inspiring stories and to promote the work of the Centre. We promote dialogue through different types of media across our numerous channels such as our social media accounts, newsletter and website.

Under the supervision of the Chief, News and Media, the intern will provide support for the Communications team in maintaining the website, feeding social media channels and assisting with the day-to-day tasks of the Communications Department.

FUNCTIONS

  • Updating the website (programme, Fellows, events, news and other pages) as needed;
  • Creating content for KAICIID’s social media channels;
  • Updating newsletter and media lists;
  • Supporting the Public Affairs team with day-to-day tasks such as drafting, proofreading, taking meeting minutes, compiling/distributing meeting agendas, etc.;
  • Finding and editing photos and videos;
  • Liaising with KAICIID Programmes focal points to gather information and documents for drafting content for the website and social media;
  • Producing social media and website analytics reports;
  • Undertaking any other assignments as may be required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a student in the final year of higher education (university or other accredited institution) at graduate or postgraduate level; or recent graduate or postgraduate, i.e. within one year of graduation;
  • Be between 21 and 30 years of age;
  • Strong drafting and proofreading skills;
  • Familiarity with online content management systems;
  • Experience with Microsoft software applications;
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written;
  • Knowledge of Arabic, German and/or Spanish is desirable;
  • Video editing skills are desirable.

PERIOD OF INTERNSHIP

The selected candidate is expected to start by January 2022 and will be offered initially a three months’ internship with a possibility to stay up to nine months.
