Overview

CHAI has been working together with the Ministry of Health’s National HIV Program since 2014. CHAI’s support has been focused on strengthening the supply chain to increase access to high-quality HIV care and treatment among hard-to-reach populations, to help Lao PDR make progress towards achieving the global HIV 90/90/90 targets by 2020.

 

In 2021, CHAI will continue supporting the National HIV Program to:

  • Ensure patients have uninterrupted access to optimal testing and treatment
  • Increase the programs’ utilization of data for strategic and operational planning
  • Strengthen program management and operational capacity, with an eye towards sustainability
Responsibilities

CHAI is seeking a highly entrepreneurial individual to support the Ministry of Health’s National HIV Program to develop new ARV and OI guidelines for 2021 to replace the previous version developed in 2017, with tasks including but not limited to:

  • Support workshop to update the guidelines and training tools/materials
  • Facilitate graphic design and printing process for the updated guidelines
  • Develop new ARV and OI guidelines to treat people living with HIV (PLHIV)
  • Ensure comments and suggestions from the team at the National HIV Program are addressed or incorporated into the updated guidelines
  • Facilitate the graphic design and printing process of the updated guidelines
  • Provide support to the National HIV Program to organize meetings, trainings, workshops, and development of tools/materials for Point of Care facilities

The STC can complete the project remotely.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, and at least 3 years of professional experience in the private or public sector
  • Experience in public health, HIV/AIDS, or STI is desirable
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Experience in project planning and execution, including budgeting
  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build professional and collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, and drive results
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, including the ability to work independently with little guidance, and propose and implement new approaches/initiatives
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare and present compelling presentations and program planning/memo documents
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience working with the government of Lao PDR or international government organizations institutions is a plus
