Travel:  

a) UNDP will cover the cost of travel of the individual to the duty station, as well as their return to their home upon completion of their services. Travel costs are covered only in the event that the function will be undertaken physically in the duty station and excludes working from home arrangements.

b) Include any official travel expected to be associated with performing the functions.

Office/Unit/Project Description 

People for 2030 is a transformative programme of change which aims to dramatically improve the capacity and culture to deliver better development results in UNDP. The Strategy states that all UNDP personnel have a shared responsibility for delivering the Strategy. An engagement and communication plan is the only way that this shared accountability can be stimulated and monitored across the organization. The plan is thus central to the successful delivery of the People Strategy.

The purpose of the role is to support and coordinate effective and engaging communications around People for 2030, UNDP’s People Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Scope of Work

Coordinate the delivery of the engagement plan for People for 2030:

The Engagement Analyst will be required to support and coordinate the delivery of the engagement plan for People for 2030.

In particular, he/she will be required to perform, but not limited to, the following related tasks:

  • Develop and manage the content for the People for 2030 Intranet, Yammer Pages and Bulletin/ blog design,
  • Coordinate various People for 2030 community groups on MS Teams and other digital workspaces,
  • Provide support to OHR Personnel in the development of official emails and notices in regards to People for 2030,
  • Coordinate other tasks such as podcasts, video media and data visualizations for People for 2030
  • Manage the work, content and delivery plans as required.

Innovate new approaches to communications

  • Using the engagement plan as a basis, propose innovative new ways to encourage engagement and strengthen internal communication on People for 2030’s related activities,
  • Redesign workflows and methodologies regarding communications and engagement materials within OHR,
  • Provide up to date best practice/s and ensure continuous learning of the current trends in communications and engagement,
  • Liaise with the Talent Acquisition and People Programmes’ Unit to ensure synergies between internal communication and the UNDP Employer Value Proposition (EVP) Activation Plan.

Support OHR with other communication needs

  • Support the OHR Directorate in managing messages and announcements from the OHR Director account,
  • Manage the internal OHR MS Teams site, Yammer Page and Intranet,
  • Collaborate with other UNDP communication units and individuals to support the work of OHR
  • Build and sustain a network of communication practitioners from other UN Agencies and outside the UN System

Required Skills and Experience

Min. Academic Education

Master’s Degree in development studies, human resources, communications or a related field of expertise; or a Bachelor’s Degree plus four years of relevant working experience.

 

Min. years of relevant Work experience

A minimum of two years (with Master’s Degree) or four years (with Bachelor’s Degree) of relevant work experience in Communications and the use of digital tools for communication and engagement, is required.

Required  skills and competencies

Work experience in an organization similar in size and complexity to UNDP, is an advantage.

Experience in Human Resources is desirable but not essential.

Required Language(s) (at working level)

Proficiency in the English language (both oral and written), is required;

Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
