Contract Duration:
The Business Support Assistant (Protocol) will be contracted for an initial term of 12 months. Contract may be extended based on business need and satisfactory performance.

Job Purpose 
Support the Country Office Protocol Operations, particularly in the Port Operations, clearance of shipments and aviation cargo.

 

Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of Administration or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: 
•    Draft letters to concerned government parties to secure entry permits to restricted areas such as Ports, Airports to facilitate WFP operations
•    Draft Special Permit requests, Declaration en Douane or any other clearance formality required for WFP shipments
•    Follow-up on the clearances of submitted applications with the relevant authorities for shipments or aviation cargo
•    Translate directives and communiques received from the government pertaining to the current situation
•    Support the logistics/port team in their official communication with the government for High level visits and meetings
•    Support the Admin Officer in updating the status of assets affected by the office explosion for Country Office and Beirut Field Office
•    Carry out Asset’s transactions on specialized platform as needed
•    Support in identifying the number of assets requiring replacement


 

Standard Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Education: Completion of secondary school education. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Translation and Languages is an advantage.

Experience: At least three (3) years of progressively work experience in Protocol, translation, or relevant fields.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Fluency in French is an advantage.
