Organizational Setting

This position is located in FAO Representation to Pakistan, based in Islamabad. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural , fisheries and forestry sectors and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, direct supervision of the International Procurement Officer, or OIC Procurement Unit and in close coordination with concerned FAO colleagues, the Procurement Assistant will perform the following tasks


Tasks and responsibilities

• Tender opening, reviewing quotations, bids/offers
• Preparation of technical and commercial evaluation
• Seek clarification from vendors
• Prepare tender documents, purchase orders and LOA’s
• Maintain updated records of the purchase orders and LOA’s with the supporting documents
• Prepare all documents for procurement committee meetings and perform as secretary
• Process Purchase Orders
• Review and verify vendors invoices
• Perform any other task assigned by the relevant supervisors

• Maintain updated records of the purchase orders and LOA’s with the supporting documents
• Prepare all documents for procurement committee meetings and perform as secretary
• Tender opening, reviewing quotations, bids/offers
• Preparation of procurement plans.


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements


• University degree in Business/ Public Administration or relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related function.
• Working knowledge of English (or Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
• National of Pakistan

Selection Criteria

Candidates will be assessed against the requirements listed above.


• Experience in the Procurement is desirable.
