Description

EGNOS Security Engineer,  in the EGNOS Product Assurance, Safety and Security Unit within the Navigation Product Assurance and Safety Office, Directorate of Navigation.

Duties

You will report to the Head of the EGNOS PA, Safety and Security Unit, and your main tasks and duties will include:

 

  • guiding and monitoring the implementation of Security Requirements by EGNOS contractors, at system and sub-system levels;
  • following closely security requirement derivation and design during sub-system development and qualification by contractors;
  • managing the status of SOCs, NCs, RFDs and RFWs from sub-system Contractors against Security Requirements, and the critical analysis of Industry Prime system assessment;
  • supporting the EGNOS Non-Conformance Review Boards;
  • supporting the EGNOS Technical Change Boards;
  • supporting the ESA EGNOS security team through review, comments andrecommendations, related to EGNOS security risk analysis or system security engineering documents;
  • supporting the definition of security technical measures required to cover identified security risk;
  • following closely the implementation of security measures in system and sub-system design;
  • supporting the EGNOS Accreditation Process, including:
  • provisioning the status related to sub-system security;
  • analysing and investigating EGNOS sub-system security in relation with contractors;
  • analysing the impact of security risks and risk treatment plans on EGNOS sub-systems;
  • analysing the penetration test findings and security patches.

 

You will be involved in EGNOS System milestones (reviews, key points, etc.), and in the preparation of and/or attendance to some Security Boards with EUSPA and EC such as SEC-EB, MSEB, GSAP addressing domains within your area of responsibility.

 

You will cooperate closely with the other EGNOS teams working on system design, or on development and qualification, in the EGNOS Project Office, as well with the EGNOS PA and Safety for sub-system review follow-up and for ensuring consistency between Safety and Security.

Education

A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline is required for this post.

Additional requirements

You should have extensive experience in security technologies in a complex software system for large distributed systems.

 

Experience in security risk analysis will be considered an asset.

 

You are able to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse, international team environment. You have good organisation and communication skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems and an interest in innovative technologies.

 

You are eligible to obtain EU security clearance from your national authority.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required.
Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
