Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the WHO Representative and direct supervision of the Deputy Representative, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a tracking system for technical and financial reporting requirements, especially those related to emergencies.
  • Provide support to project reporting, including editing, quality control and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of the project proposals as direct assistance to technical units.
  • Assist with the preparation of various written materials such as presentations, periodic reports, or situation report.
  • Assist with the organization of external evaluation missions.
  • Attend and report on relevant meetings, conferences and trainings.
  • Travel to programme areas for fact finding and reporting as per requirement of the programme.
  • Assist with proofreading, summarizing and layout of technical reports;
  • Undertake any other assignment as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

University degree with post graduate/Masters. Mass Communication/lnternational Relations/Public Health/Business Administration or any related field.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • At least 2 years of experience in monitoring analytical reports.
  • Experience with international organizations and/or emergency programmes in a developing country will be particularly valued. Understanding of Agenda 2030 (SDGs 3, 10, and 17). Being conversant of Bangladesh's 4th Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Plan (2017-2022) and Seventh Five Year 1, Plan (2015 -2020).
Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Gender equality and the advancement of women, Emergency response, immediate relief operations, and post-conflict humanitarian aid operations, Monitoring and evaluation Area of expertise details:

Additional Requirements for Area of Expertise: Expertise on Gender and GBV mainstreaming in emergency as well as development settings.
