Overall purpose of the role:Under the supervision of the Civil Society Program Manager and Specialist, the Civil Society Assistant will support the establishment of DRC civil society program in Bajii, including:
- Community outreach and mobilization of civil society actors in area of operations
- Consultation and engagement of stakeholders in area of operations
- Provision of administrative or technical support of all project activities (trainings, meetings, events, community consultations, data collection and analysis)
- Assist the sector officers in ensuring quality of the planning, implementation and follow up of sector activities

Responsibilities:
Programming & Operations
- Administrative and technical support to Civil Society officers and Civil Society program
- Supervising and monitoring the community grant COVID-19 activities’ implementation and CSOs.
- Carry out basic tasks within Civil Society program (e.g. data collection, organization of meetings with civil society actors, government stakeholders, community members)
- Carry out administrative tasks as requested by Civil Society Program Manager and Specialist
- Follow given work plans and guidelines
- Work closely with Baiji CSOs and Activists, providing support and guiding including field visits
- Report any feedback and issues from the CSOs network
Coordination and representation
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues
- Represent DRC, when request by the civil society PM, at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
- Ensure integration with other DRC sectors

Experience and technical competencies:
- 2 year of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience with humanitarian and civil society organizations
- Previous experience in programs focusing on civil society empowerment and governance is an asset
- Experience with conducting administrative tasks and with following standard procedures and guidelines
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a complex multicultural environment with different stakeholders
- Willingness and capacity to work in the field and travel frequently to project sites when needed.
- Ability to work sensitively with different community members, taking into account gender, age and diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a team to achieve joint objectives, in a multicultural context.
- Ability to act calmly in tense situations, handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, and act with transparency and integrity.
- Solution-oriented approach, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented, with ability to organize and manage information, plan and manage workload, prioritize, and deliver to deadlines
