DRC is looking to hire Livelihood Assistant-Training who will be responsible for coordinating and directly implementing employability and Livelihoods trainings in DRC’s community center. 

 

About the job

 

The individual will report directly to Base Manager-Irbid. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • With the Economic Recovery team, participate in developing employability and livelihoods trainings to be held in the DRC community center;
  • Deliver the trainings on a regular basis to Syrian and Jordanian beneficiaries; this includes coordinating the day-to-day logistics and all communications and administration with participants;
  • Conduct pre and post evaluations to assess knowledge and skill improvement;
  • Record attendance, test scores, and other training-oriented information as part of a broader beneficiary profile;
  • Assist in the development of a training framework for specialized skill development trainings held by private sector actors in the broader community;
  • Analyzing referral cases eligible for financial support for livelihood activity;
  • Implement monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for skill development training;
  • Routinely audit the curriculum taught and revise according to beneficiary feedback as well as changes to the context;
  • Assist in the identification of appropriate referral pathways based on beneficiary participation in trainings;
  • Inform the development of new curriculum and training priorities as needed.
  • Assist in the enforcement of HAP Principles of Accountability;
  • Ensure the application of DRC Code of Conduct and DRC Policies and Procedures.

 

 

About you

 

Required / Desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, economics, political/social sciences, public administration, international, development or a relevant equivalent
  • 0-3 years of experience working with an INGO.
  • Experience developing training content highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster communication and negotiation among local stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Experience with relationship management, working in local and vulnerable communities;
  • Ability to work effectively as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and to work with a wide range of government and community counterparts, and other stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving vulnerably individuals with respect, patience and understanding; 
  • Understanding of the socio-economic conditions of Syrian refugee populations preferred
