Partnership and Communication, Senior Associate

The Senior Associate will support developing partnership and facilitate communications and coordination of the Uzbekistan and other Central Asia program of GGGI. The Senior Associate will be the focal interface between GGGI HQ, country offices in Central Asia and all relevant project partners including KOICA, K-NGOs and Korean and global expert advisory group and other project partners. The Senior Associate will directly report to Director for Asia in close coordination with Country Representative in Uzbekistan and Central Asia programs.

 

Based in Seoul, The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic performance such a poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

 

 

 

Engagement

The Senior Associate will be responsible for

  • Maintaining the latest donor and project partners’ mapping including key funding opportunities;
  • Supporting Central Asia programs to cultivate institutional partnerships and maintain knowledge & communications networks with bilateral and multilateral and, development agencies, government agencies, K-NGOs and private sector actors;
  • Developing program/project introduction and promotion materials for internal and external communication;
  • Executing day to day coordination with amongst country offices, HQ and project partners for progress update;
  • Coordinating internal and external reporting at HQ for Central Asia Programs and developing reporting materials in compliance with GGGI’s and donor (e.g KOICA) guidance;
  • Supporting business cultivation and developing proposal for GGGI Central Asia program.

 

Delivery

The Senior Associate, under the supervision of Director for Asia,

  • Analyzes, develop and communicate project opportunities for a portfolio of resource partners/donors, including private sector in Central Asia.
  • Supports write and formulate high-quality proposals that provides clear theories of change, logframes, and budgets in coordination with GGGI HQ partnership Unit.
  • Provides quality assurance of proposals, and assures that they meet both internal and external resource partner requirements.
  • Develops program introduction and promotion materials on Central Asia for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and synthesize project reporting in Central Asia Program.
  • Provides day to day coordination between HQ, country office, project partners in central Asia and prepare progress report.
  • Develops periodical and ad-hoc donor reporting materials in coordination with country offices in Central Asia.
  • Engages other duties assigned by Director for Asia.

 

Requirement

Qualification

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in sustainable development, international relationship, economics, finance, water management, agriculture value chain or a related discipline 
  • Preferred 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in the field of climate change, green growth and sustainable development.
  • Experience in working with Korean stakeholders in the context of development assistance or international cooperation projects is a strongly valued
  • Excellent written and oral command of both English and Korean language is essential; proficiency in Russian is desirable

 

Functional

  • Familiar with green growth in the context of developing countries and how marketable and bankable bio-based products, private sector as well as sustainable finance play a role in advancing green growth on landscapes;
  • Experience developing successful complex project proposals for traditional providers of development assistance, as well as private sector;
  • Experience communicating effectively and maintaining strong relationships with resource partners/ donors and outstanding stakeholder engagement skills
