  1. Methods Development & Data Collection for understanding socio-ecological dimensions of integrated food and energy production systems in East Africa.
  2. Publish scientific papers in relevant journals on social and economic implications of solar energy development, agrivoltaics, and food security in East Africa, as well as contribute to publications led by the team.
  3. Contribute to communications materials on food and energy production systems for diverse audiences, including farmers, extension, policy makers, donors, etc.
  4. Manage partnerships with project members and stakeholders by actively engaging in meetings, stakeholder fora, and other relevant events.
  5. Contribute to resource mobilization to extend work on integrated food and energy systems regionally or globally.
  6. Present project results at conferences and meetings, such as the Agrivoltaics Conference, or other relevant conferences on food security, energy security, development, climate change adaptation, etc.

Requirements

  • Doctorate/PhD in relevant social science discipline (sociology, international development, economics, political ecology, gender studies, human geography, etc.).
  • Experience working in international development context required, experience in East Africa preferred.
  • Ability to conduct interviews with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with Q-sort methodology preferred.
  • Workshop facilitation.
  • Analysis of social science data (R, Stata, SPSS or G other relevant software).
