This UNOPS position at LICA4 level is advertised and open to all applicants.

Candidates must meet the essential minimum requirements of the position and candidates not citizens of the country must comply with all eligibility requirements for employment in line with the prevailing legislative prerequisites in the country. - Support the provision of content for UNHCR website/social media channels, including photos, text, and raw footage, and support the coordination of production/editing of graphic design materials and videos.
- Compile texts, pictures, and other information material from provided sources with evidence-based information, edit, proofread, and re-write texts.
- Adapt UNHCR international messaging into the local context and specific audiences, providing original copywriting on topics resulting in information materials.
- Support the implementation of the donor relation strategy as focal point.
- Collect press-cuttings of articles in national, regional, international and periodicals that pertain to refugee related issues and to the work of the office.
- Compile and maintain the mailing list for press releases, information bulletins, etc and ensure timely dispatch of information to media and other interested parties.
- Classify and maintain adequate stock of Public Information materials and promote sale of merchandise where appropriate.
- Provide clerical assistance with regard to Public Information events such as press conferences, media interviews, poster campaigns, exhibitions, and public awareness raising events.
- Respond to routine telephone and written enquiries related to the Unit from a variety of sources such as the media, the public, NGOs and government officials etc.
- Maintain Public Information files up-to-date.
- Have access to UNHCR's communication systems.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Education & Professional Work Experience

Years of Experience / Degree Level:

1 year of relevant experience with High School Diploma; or no experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher;

Field(s) of Education:

Communications, Journalism; Advertising, or other communications relevant field.

Relevant Job Experience:

Essential

Communication and computer skills. Excellent drafting skills as well as translation and interpreting skills.
- Basic knowledge on photography and video production.
- Working knowledge on production and management of social media tools.

Desirable

Completion of UNHCR Learning Programmes or specific training relevant to functions of position.
- Communication and computer skills: MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign and internet.

Functional Skills:

TI-Interpretation;

Language Requirements:

English and Portuguese.
