WFP is working through the Regional Pacific Food Security Cluster (RPFSC) to provide bilateral cluster support in the form of coordination services, information management services, vulnerability assessments, mapping and GIS assessments. The RPFSC is seeking to expand its partnerships in the region across national food security clusters by supporting their leadership and facilitating connections to solve problems.
 

PURPOSE

 

The WFP Pacific Multi Country Office is looking for a dynamic professional to support the engagement  of WFP with national Governments and strategic partners, to contribute to strengthen WFP’s leadership role for food security and preparedness in the Pacific and advance the implementation of activities under the multi-country strategic plan (iMCSP). 


The Information Management Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator to support the food security cluster and cash working groups, and coordinate and complement the efforts of the Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping (VAM), and together support implementation of iMCSP.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Social Science field or in International Affairs, Political Science, International Development, Economics, Statistics, Journalism, Business management, Environmental Science, Social science, GIS or other relevant
  • At least four years of professional experience for candidates with Bachelor Degree, or two years with Master Degree, progressive responsibility in information management, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development and food security 
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating general meetings
  • Experience conducting trainings and facilitating workshops

 

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • General knowledge of information management good practices and processes;
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts and staff within the office, host population, Government authorities, donors, NGOs and other UN agencies.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural team and establish effective working relationship with stakeholders of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan and those under supervision.

 

Desirable experience and knowledge:

  • Experience working with Illustrator and/ or photoshop
  • Understanding of relevant national and UN institutional frameworks
  • Knowledge of UN operational programmes and policy commitments, with WFP programmatic and partnership experience
