Our Economic Empowerment team is seeking a Job Developer to serve as the primary point of community outreach and contact with area employers.The Job Developer is responsible for creating partnerships within the community with maintaining and establishing ties with local businesses and staffing agencies, to assist newly arrived refugee clients to attain self-sufficiency through employment. You will identify and cultivate new employer relationships and match qualified clients with employment opportunities, engage with local employers, train and guide staff through the hiring processes of various companies, provide ongoing retention services and support to both clients and employers, collaborate across all employment direct service staff, and maintain internal tracking systems. You will be the main point of contact for critical employer relationships and create pipelines and relationships to place over 250+ clients per year into employment.You will develop, implement, and deliver trainings to clients, staff, and supporting volunteers on related skills and processes. This position reports to the Employment Manager.

 

Major Responsibilities:

● Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities and develop, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with area employers;

● Educate employers on the merits of refugee employment and relevant right to work documentation;

● Act as a liaison between the IRC, employers, clients, and community partners;

● Communicate and collaborate across 7+ programs and with up approximately 10 staff regarding employment opportunities, client referrals, and onboarding processes;

● Design, update, and implement collaborative systems to be used across all Early Employment staff to support onboarding processes and status updates, carpool, and job bank details relevant to client profiles;

● Provide job counseling and creative problem solving to support newly arrived refugees, which may include intake, assessment, orientation, and job readiness classes to clients eligible for employment services;

● Research and attend relevant job development opportunities, ie. job fairs, community event, job site tours, etc;

● Plan and implement workshops, meetings, and development activities to ensure employment opportunities are appropriate, relevant, and attainable;

● Determine specific, appropriate employment opportunities and assist Employment Specialists as they guide clients in accessing opportunities and guiding them through the hiring process;

● Monitor & report on job performance, wage level, retention, health benefits offered, and employer/employee satisfaction across all placements using IRC databases;

● Assist employers with any post placement issues and continuing employment needs;

● Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual job placement goals, often exceeding 250 placements per year;

● Ensure timely and accurate compliance on all reporting requirements, including database management, case noting, and file maintenance.

● Report on new hiring opportunities weekly and lead bi-weekly Job Development team meetings focused on internal processes, client coaching, employer processes, etc;

● Supervise and assist a team of interns and volunteers;

● Other duties as assigned.
