SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:

SCA in partnership with Shifo foundation made the first move in introducing Smart paper technology in Afghanistan. to MCH services. The system will support mothers and their children registration, follow up of mothers ANC, PNC and FP visits plan as well as other preventive health services which are part of preventive mother and child services delivery.

SPT-MCH supervisor will technically support introduction and implementation of “SPT” system to the MCH services, through planning, assessment, implementation, and monitoring/evaluation of the system in the targeted HFs of Wardak province

Qualifications & Requirements:

Graduated from recognized university/institute of Medical as (MD), Midwives or Community Midwife certified by relevant higher education authority in Afghanistan.

Have at least Two years of working experience in BPHS/EPHS and familiarity with the nature of Sehatmandi project

Experience in SPT or MCH services as a supervisory or management level will be an advantage.

Be a good team player and be able to work in under pressure conditions/circumstances.

 Have good communication skills.

Mid level of English (written and speaking) and ability to effectively communicate issue with Shifo, and Sehatmandi team

Able to travel to all districts of the province to supervise HFs, and support implementation of SPT-MCH.

Main Responsibilities:

 Assessment for implementation and introduction of SPT to MCH services.

Data entry and analysing of MCH data with HMIS and other stakeholder on quarterly/Monthly bases.

Develop SPT training plan and Conducting Smart paper technology training to relevant HFs staff, and post training follow up

Maintain close coordination with Shifo, KMO, and MCH department of Sehatmandi project. 

Checking quality improvement of data on SPT indicators on monthly basis. Scanning and synchronizing of SPT forms on monthly basis

Validation and data verification of uploaded data and maintaining SPT software system.

Visiting of health facilities to check reports process of health services (MCH) and on the job training of HF staff.

Maintaining close communication with shifo team in Sweden to clarify any questions related to the project, and sharing progress

Collection of SPT forms/data from HFs and entry to the system.

Distribution and availability of electronic reports and registration in the HFs.

Checking of daily vouchers for scanning, synchronizing and verification

Follow up of defaulter Mothers and children that generates by system with the relevant HFs.

Supply management of smart paper forms to relevant HF and updating of stock cards for smart paper forms.
