Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment. Candidates must be students of any academic program (BA/BSc, Masters, PhD) and keep this status during the whole period of the volunteer assignment.
Description of taskWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Communication Officer or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Communication Associate will:
- Organize UNICEF Mexico´s catalogue of photo and video images to create and archive in an easy to retrieve manner a set of collections for internal and external use in social media, publications, communication and fundraising campaigns.
- Provide support in digital activities: KPI tracking for digital channels, web content development and community management.
- Provide support in the production of social media and multimedia products (design, adaptation of content pieces provided by UNICEF headquarters, video/audio products and social media content).
- Provide support in uploading photos, videos and other multimedia materials to a UNICEF online platform (WeShare) to share content for the entire organization, including National Committees.
- Provide other support to the Communication team as required.
This is an opportunity for university students. People who are currently enrolled in a university programme (bachelor's or master's degree) in digital communications, multimedia, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, as well as people who have graduated from their bachelor's degree no more than one year ago, are eligible.
Age requirements: 18 to 26 years throught the duration of the assignment.
Required experience: 6 Months Language skills:- Spanish(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- English(Optional), Level - Working Knowledge
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in communications support;
- Experience in working with social media and multimedia assets are important.
- Solid skills in software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier (or equivalent) would be an asset.
- Experience in usage of computers, including databases and office software packages
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required. Good knowledge of English is an advantage.
