Expert Donor & Grants Coordination*
in Kabul
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Kabul, Afghanistan.
As Expert Donor & Grants Coordination you will support the Head of Programmes and the Project Advisors with the development of concept notes and proposals and contribute to the development of the multi-annual Country Programme and to its implementation and monitoring. Your aim will be to maximize Welthungerhilfe's impact in Afghanistan based on Welthungerhilfe’s strategy and according to internal and external quality standards.
Your responsibilities
- Support the development of donors and grants, as well as stakeholders mapping and in the identification, assessment and development of new project ideas and proposals
- Develop expertise on donors´ strategies and facilitate the roll-out of projects, ensuring that the country programme complies with donors´ and Welthungerhilfe's strategies, procedures, and requirements
- Contribute to the identification of co-financing opportunities with the aim to further diversify donor funding
- Liaise with key stakeholders and donors and participate in coordination summits
- Steer the process of grants monitoring in coordination with key stakeholders within the country programme
- Contribute to the strengthening of the quality of grants and projects management and to the capacity building of staff and partners
Your profile
- A university or polytechnic degree in humanitarian/development studies or an equivalent degree related to the position
- 1 - 3 years work experience in development aid, ideally in the region
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven reporting and organizational skills, with proficiency in writing for different audiences
- Ability to work under time pressure and, sometimes, high workload
- Willingness to work in an insecure environment and committment to adhere to strict security procedures
- Excellent spoken and written English, proficiency in German language is an asset
