Background

Under the guidance and direct leadership of the Chief Security Advisor, the UN ID Card Room Supervisor provide overall supervision of UN policy on UN ID card issues, maintains the UN ID Card Room safe from ID card data loss, ensures timely processing of UN ID cards for all UN staff/ UN Contractors serving in Liberia, and incoming visitors, maintain ID Card equipment in serviceable condition and ensure timely maintenance of the equipment was made by contractors/UNDP IT specialist. Actively participate in compiling of Local Cost-Shared Security Budget (LCSSB) for UN ID card room in order to replenish the stock of supplies for ID production.

Duties and Responsibilities

 
Summary of Key Functions:  
 
  • Inspect and ensure that ID card machines function properly all the time.
  • Liaise with UNDP IT Unit and ensure that the network system in UNDSS Liberia office is functional.
  • In collaboration with UNDP IT, Conduct functional analysis of UNDSS staff computers. 
  • Ensure timely issuance of new ID card to staff of the UN system in Liberia which also includes contractors, consultants and special visitors. 
  • Assist the UNDP IT staff in Security camera troubleshooting. 
  • Be accountable to CSA for all cards issued in strict adherence to standing operating procedure 
  • Perform all other duties as required by the CSA/DSA/ FSCO.  
 
Inspect and ensure that ID card machines function properly all the time.
  • Ensure proper records of issued ID cards,
  • Inspect ID Card machines daily to ensure clear printing.
Liaise with UNDP IT Unit and ensure that the network system in UNDSS Liberia office is functional.
  • Regularly check the stability of WIFI signal in all UNDSS offices 
  • Be ready and capable of troubleshooting problems  
In collaboration with UNDP IT, conduct functional analysis of UNDSS staff computers
  • Regularly check all UNDSS computers for viruses.
  • Scan all UNDSS pen drive before using on a computer. 
Ensure timely issuance of new ID card to staff of the UN system in Liberia which also includes contractors, consultants and special visitors. 
  • All cards should be issued strictly based on the duly signed application
  • All cards to be issued timely
Assisting the UNDP IT staff in Security camera troubleshooting. 
  • Regularly check the operational status of CCTV cameras
  • Making sure that security cameras are uninterruptedly connected to UNDP network.
Be accountable to CSA for all cards issued in strict adherence to standing operating procedure 
  • The main guiding principle of ID Card issue to be the Policy, SOP, and duly signed application.
Perform all other duties as required by the CSA/DSA/ FSCO

Required Skills and Experience

Education: 
  • Diploma in Computer Engineering. Certificate in Computer networking, Degree in Electronic Engineering is desirable
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in assorted IT work. UN experience in required capacity is an asset.
Language Requirements:
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken
