JOB TITLE: Operational Information Management (OIM) Consultant
TYPE OF CONTRACT: International Consultant (Level I)
UNIT/DIVISION: Regional Bureau for Asia-Pacific (RBB)/ Programme Unit
DUTY STATION: various locations in WFP Country Offices in Asia and the Pacific Region
DURATION: 3 months extendable to 11 months

The Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of the World Food Programme (WFP) requires consultant services to support Country Offices in carrying out the following work in managing information and knowledge related to WFP’s COVID-19 response:
- Prepare operational information management (OIM) products in cooperation with Country Office colleagues, in line with established review and approval workflows. Products can include situation reports for WFP and external audiences, donor reports, briefs, dashboards, project proposals, among others.
- Liaise with Country Office, Regional Bureau and Headquarters teams to channel information requests, analyse inputs and draft relevant, concise and engaging content to inform programme redesign and adaptation, as well as advocacy and fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate closely with Programme and Monitoring colleagues to generate and maintain an overview of key operational constraints resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, WFP’s programmatic adjustment and targeted COVID-19 response activities.
- Review and adjust guidance and processes for managing the information flow as needed.
- Manage and share evidence produced by WFP and other actors related to the impact of COVID-19 in WFP’s countries of operation.
- Contribute to the preparation/production of an annual country report by drafting sections in consultation with various Country Office teams, following corporate guidance and requirements.
- Perform other reporting- or knowledge management-related duties as needed.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in communication, international relations, political science, economics or related field.
Experience: At least three years of international experience in reporting on developmental / humanitarian operations; data analysis; editing; and coordination. Work experience in fragile/emergency contexts would be an asset.
Knowledge & Skills: Solid analytical, writing and communication skills; knowledge of UN system policies and functions; proficiency in MS Office 365; knowledge of data visualization tools and WFP reporting and data systems would be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency(level C) in written and spoken English.
This is a roster recruitment for short- to medium-term deployments of experienced OIM officers to support WFP’s COVID-19 response. Candidates should be willing to temporarily work in any of the countries in the Asia-Pacific Region where WFP operates, such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan or Timor-Leste, based on country needs. Remote work may be possible or required depending on countries’ travel restrictions and border closures due to COVID-19.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to participate in a written test. Candidates passing the written test will be placed in the roster for a period of two years, and as the need arise, may be invited for interviews for specific openings.
