ABOUT THE JOB

Under the overall supervision of the Livelihoods Team Leader, Livelihoods Assistant will support the Livelihoods Officers in the implementation of AHF funded activities in the assigned area of responsibility: community mobilization, assessment and distribution of assistance to the community. The job holder monitors the usage of inputs, and provides support in organizing trainings, as guided by Livelihoods Officers, in accordance with FSAC recommended methodologies and tools, and in line with DRC policies and guidelines. He/she will be working in cooperation with DRC’s Livelihoods and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) teams and in collaboration with local authorities and communities. The Livelihoods Assistant works under the direct supervision of Field Officers and overall management of Livelihoods Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • To achieve the overall and specific position’s objectives the job holder tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Community mobilization
  • Establishing and maintaining good relations and linkages with humanitarian actors in the field and other formal or informal stakeholders
  • Organizing and conducting rapid needs assessments
  • Coordinating and managing voucher system in a transparent and accountable way
  • Organizing data collection
  • Providing logistic support in organizing trainings
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

  • Minimum two years of experience with NGO or other development actors including at least one year in livelihoods or community mobilization
  • Ability to work in the field
  • Experience working in and familiarity with Kandahar
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer skills (especially MS Excel and MS Word) is an asset

 

Education/qualifications:

  • BSc, preferably in agriculture or minimum 14th class graduate

Languages:

  • Pashto (fluent)
  • Basic English is an asset

We Offer:

  • Salary and conditions will be in accordance with DRC salary scale
  •  DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till end of 2020.
