Description of taskThe national UNV will be assigned to either NALA, GBA or ADRS however, will remain under the supervision of the Chief Technical Advisor for the UNDP Rule of Law project. The selected candidate(s) will also work closely with the UNDP M&E Specialist for reporting and data collection purposes:
NALA, ADRS & GBA:
- Provide administrative support to the assigned institution as it relates to Legal Aid (Mobile Legal Aid & The Prisons Legal Aid Desks);
- Maintain all case management and case logs relating to the Mobile Legal Aid Clinics and the Prisons Legal Aid Desks including the documentation of follow ups and outcomes of cases;
- Ensure that attorneys are updated on their caseloads, deadlines, court dates, client meetings, client information and any other administrative support required by NALA and GBA attorneys working on legal aid cases supported by the UNDP project;
- Ensure that all data is collected accurately and is disaggregated by gender and age;
- Coordinate linkages and communication between NALA/GBA/ADRS and the UNDP RoL project;
- Assist the M&E Specialist in monitoring and evaluation visits, providing support on all related administrative issues including transport; and
- Any other related task requested by the UNDP Chief Technical Advisor.
Master's Degree or equivalent in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in administration and/or with legal institutions/law firms;
- Knowledge of and experience in administration, operations and logistics;
- Experience with rule of law programming and/or M&E in the context of rule of law is an advantage;
- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- Knowledge of and experience in administration, operations and logistics;
- Experience with rule of law programming and/or M&E in the context of rule of law is an advantage;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and liaison skills;
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, email, etc.); and
- A demonstrated understanding of the critical aspects of human rights, gender, child rights and, specifically, gender power relations within The Gambian cultural context
