Job Description

The Direct Response Associate will cultivate IRC supporters by calling them to thank them for their support.  This outreach to supporters is purely a cultivation tool and there is no solicitation component.  He/She will also assist with all inquiries via email, phone or mail.  The Direct Response Associate reports to the Sr. Manager, Supporter Services. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Make thank you phone calls to IRC donors.
  • Make daily cultivation calls to direct response donors to acknowledge their recent gifts.
  • Send “Thank You” emails and note cards to donors without a phone number.
  • Add contact information to donors’ records in database.
  • Assist Marketing staff as needed, especially during periods of higher volumes.
  • Assist Supporter Services Manager with Donor Services inbox.
  • Assist Supporter Services Managers with donor inquiries via phone and email, regarding making a donation, gifts that have been made, how to make a gift, and etc.
  • Assist Supporter Services Manager with preparing and reissuing gift acknowledgement letter.
  • Help Supporter Services Manager with PIC’s weekly comment files.
  • Assist monthly donors as needed.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Some college preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years general office or customer service experience.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to speak well, interact effectively, and diplomatically represent the IRC over the phone.

  • Proficient in English.

Working Environment:  Standard office work environment.
