Our team and mission

The YGT position is with the Configuration & Data Management team in the Directorate of Navigation. We are overseeing the configuration management and support systems for navigation product lifecycles under projects such as Galileo and EGNOS. We strive to keep our systems as efficient as possible and, following ESA’s Digital Agenda, explore new processes and technologies to do that, aiming to make management of space product data and configuration robust and secure. This is essential to long-term mission success and to ESA’s contribution to GNSS.

Field(s) of activity

This Traineeship offers the unique opportunity to research the field of product lifecycle management for space and B2B mechanisms with the application of blockchain technology. This will be experimented on in the context of the ESA/EU navigation space-ground infrastructure and processes under Galileo and EGNOS. The research work is expected to be documented in defined scientific and technical documents, including publications. The work to be performed will be accompanied by system, CM and IT expert engineers from various Departments with support and overall supervision from the Head of Configuration & Data Management.

You should have just completed, or be in the final year of a university course at Master's level (or equivalent) in a technical or scientific discipline.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset. 

You should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
