Our team and mission

At ESA’s newest centre ECSAT, the Estates & Facilities Management Service is responsible for the management and operation of the Centre’s modern site infrastructures, management of contracted FM services and provision of specialist support to internal customers. A significant development activity for a conference facility is currently underway. With a small team, we are managing a complex portfolio of activities comprising construction, operations and maintenance of technical facilities, offices and common areas, utilities provision, catering, cleaning, logistics, security services, travel management and videoconferencing. We contribute to the identification and promotion of best practices in the provision of technical facilities and office accommodation and help to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and ESA policies in a wide range of domains including physical security, health & safety management, fire prevention, environmental management, sustainability, crisis management and business continuity.

Field(s) of activity

In support of the sustainability re-certification (BREEAM, others) of the current ECSAT facilities and preparation of initial certification of the ECSAT new conference facility, you as a YGT will collect, consolidate and process relevant input data in preparation for the assessment.

You will support:

  • re-validation, documentation and fine-tuning of the processes and performance parameters to ensure the best possible outcome;
  • further improvement of the Centre’s sustainability and operations performance, following certification;
  • the introduction, monitoring and enhancement of Key Performance Indicators, their documentation and reporting, and Facility Management’s key internal benchmarking between ESA centres;
  • ISO certification for health & safety and other domains in accordance with applicable ESA and ISO Quality Management Standards, considered best practice by leading R&D organisations with which ESA benchmarks.

With these activities, you will contribute to building a positive image of ECSAT as an attractive, modern and sustainable workplace.

You should have just completed, or be in the final year of a university course at Master’s level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, preferably linked to sustainability and/or quality management.

Additional requirements

First experience in project management is considered an asset.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

You should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.

During the interview your motivation and overall professional perspective/career goals will also be explored.
