Young Graduate Trainee for Information Technology

Within the End-User Services Division of ESA’s IT Department, the operation team delivers workplace services in support of ESA programmes, projects and missions. The team works on evolving and operating services, aiming to extend these services to mobile platforms as far as possible.

As a YGT you will work on IT business and marketing-related analysis which will help the ESA IT Department implement and adopt new solutions.
This contribution must ensure adoption of new IT-related solutions faster and more dynamically.
Besides your technical knowledge, you must also be an ambassador for the proposed new solutions, advertising and presenting their benefits compared to legacy ones. We are looking for an individual having knowledge of the following:
- shaping the accelerator concept for mobile device solution migration and adoption,
- analysing faster ways of transitioning the legacy mail, storage and collaboration legacy tools to a cloud solution-based IT infrastructure,
- uncovering insights to implement new security networking solutions,
- initiating analyses and going into the organisation to find the data/input required to get solutions for the given challenges,
- identifying, qualifying and reducing the risks in the IT services,
- improving IT security controls,
- affinity with innovation, entrepreneurship and agile ways of working,
- ability to convert ideas into concepts.
Good-to-have technical skills: Microsoft platform, Mac platform, Windows server, basic networking concepts, Microsoft Azure, Office 365.
You should have just completed, or be in the final year of a university course at Master's level (or equivalent) in a technical or scientific discipline.
Excellent understanding of computer systems and mobile devices.
Knowledge of both Windows and Mac platforms. You must be interested in the trend setter market technology, having a global impact and huge potential for innovation.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
You should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
